Our boy turns 3!

Last weekend Jackson turned 3 and with that came three different birthday parties....is this kid spoiled or what? Friday night was his actual birthday (September 17th) and we had a party at Yaya and Bob's with Jackson's cousin Carter and Auntie Clare from Alaska. Saturday afternoon Mimi, Brent and cousin Zane arrived at our house for dinner and more cupcakes and singing.

Then, Sunday morning we had a birthday party for all of our family and Jackson's friends at Wacky Tacky. This place was awesomely Wacky!! There were slides, air guns, rope swings, climbing structures, face painting and balloon animals...For two hours the place was ours and these kids (and adults) were running around like crazy!

Here are a few our favorite shots!

Where have we been?!

I can't believe it's been almost two months since we posted! This is mainly due to me starting a new job and finishing up summer school courses for grad school. Now that the job in underway and I have a breather for a few weeks before the fall semester starts, this is a good time to recap what the Muir family has been up to!

For the 4th of July we headed to Tahoe City where we rented a house to watch the fireworks right on the lake and enjoyed playing and sunbathing in the mid 80 degree fresh air. After a few days of relaxing we headed home to unpack, wash clothes, head to the waterpark at the fountains and then repack to head back to The Village at Squaw and The Village at Northstar in Tahoe for my 30th birthday!

We had a lot of fun, relaxed, hiked and ate some fantastic food. Mimi and Brent joined us the last two days, but unfortunately our camera broke so we weren't able to capture any pictures from my birthday or many with them. Here are a few of our favorites we were able to get before the camera broke!

Hiking and crying--this was a lot of fun!

Relay for Life

A few weekends ago we headed to Redding for the Relay for Life. This one was extra special for us because it was two days before the 4 year anniversary of my dad's passing. My sister, brother-in-law and nephew walked with us in memory of my dad. It was great to see so many people walking for either family, friends or just because, but also a reminder of how horrible cancer really is and the amount of lives it has touched in some way.

We miss and love you dad and know you are in a better place!

Redding with the Rich's

Last weekend we headed to Redding to meet up with our good friends, the Rich's. Being that they live in Santa Barbara, we usually only see them a couple of times a year so we jump at a chance to hang out with them and their two adorable kids.

Jackson and Samuel are a month apart and are showing more and more interest in each other and even exhibited a great-deal of sharing this trip. One would drive the Polaris while the other sat passenger. About every three minutes we would see two little bodies climbing over seats putting on their seat belts. Sylvie and I joked that this was quite scary to see the next generation Rich and Muir boys behind the wheel of a vehicle.

As we left the ranch party on Saturday night, Jackson told us "that was so much fun playing with Sammy."
