Redding with the Rich's

Last weekend we headed to Redding to meet up with our good friends, the Rich's. Being that they live in Santa Barbara, we usually only see them a couple of times a year so we jump at a chance to hang out with them and their two adorable kids.

Jackson and Samuel are a month apart and are showing more and more interest in each other and even exhibited a great-deal of sharing this trip. One would drive the Polaris while the other sat passenger. About every three minutes we would see two little bodies climbing over seats putting on their seat belts. Sylvie and I joked that this was quite scary to see the next generation Rich and Muir boys behind the wheel of a vehicle.

As we left the ranch party on Saturday night, Jackson told us "that was so much fun playing with Sammy."

Dad's 24 Hour Race

On May 1st and 2nd Pete and his friend Jamie took part in a 24 hour mountain bike race in Cool, CA which is about 30 minutes east of Sacramento. The race was sponsored by Biorhythm Race and 100% of the money raised benefited Livestrong Cancer Research. Each lap was approximately 11.4 miles and their goal was to ride 6 laps each for a total of 12 and hope for some sleep sometime in that 24 hour period.

They were exhausted, but did sleep for a few hours and finished the race is 23 hours, 58 min, 34 seconds.......what an accomplishment!

Good luck kiss!

After the first lap

The Zoo

Last weekend the weather was sunny and in the 70s. Being that our boy would rather be outside than anywhere else, we figured this was a great time to venture out to the zoo. Jackson
saw zebras, monkeys, lions, tigers and, and....no bears. Apparently the Sacramento Zoo doesn't have bears and he was very disappointed. However, he had a ton of fun running around and just being able to be outside. Here are a few pictures of our fun.

Sonoma County

Living in Sacramento has pros and cons but one definite pro is being so centrally located to quite a few fantastic vacationing spots. Sonoma County is less than two hours from our house and it offers a variety of activites, adventures and fun for our little family.

This last weekend we spent time in Healdsburg where we drank fantastic wine, ate great food and shopped around at some great little shops. On Sunday Jackson insisted that he needed to see SAND!!!!!! We tried to redirect and distract him with other options but he wouldn't let it go. So, we took a 30 minute drive from our hotel in Santa Rosa to Bodega Bay for an afternoon of sand castle building, running, shoveling and goofing around. When the rain started in, we headed to Lucas Wharf and enjoyed a fantastic lunch right on the water.

This weekend was also my grandmother's surprise 80th birthday so we were able to get a lot done in one trip. We not only learned that Jackson has a new found love for sand, but is also OBSESSED with hotel rooms. He enjoyed looking, talking and making faces at himself in the full length mirrors, lounging (and eating) in big comfy beds surrounded by mounds of pillows and talking to his "boss" on the phones in our room.

Enjoy the pictures!

Just Goof'in around

We definitely have a character on our hands--possibly even a future career in acting and we try to capture these performances either in picture or video as much as possible. Here are a few of our favorite goof-ball pictures from the last few weeks.

Acting like Ray Charles

Wonder where he learned this from?!
